First thing to check is to make sure that VT100 is the currently
selected online display. Go the the Settings/Online Display menu item
and make sure VT100 is highlighted in the listbox.

Do you know if you Linux is trying to auto-negotiate the terminal type
when Spectrum connects? If it is, you need to run a script before you
connect to tell Spectrum what term type to send to the host. Why it
was set up that way and not just send a term type based on the online
display that is currently in use, I have no idea.

I still haven't had a chance to upgrade to the latest version of
Spectrum so I can't remember the command off hand but it is something
like "Set Term VT100". You should be able to find it in the !Help!
files fairly easily.
