Re: How convert Word files from disketter from Apple II (Word) to Windows Word?

Patty,

I think you'll need to recheck some of your facts, and provide a lot more detail about the two systems that your friend is trying to convert between. I'm pretty sure there was never a version of Microsoft Word for the Apple II. Also, there have been lots of discussions here previously about whether Windows PCs can read diskettes written by an Apple II, and it seems that it is possible only in very narrow circumstances.

Make sure it really is an Apple II and not some model of Apple Macintosh.

Things to check:
- What kind of Apple II is your friend using? (II+, IIe, IIc, IIc+, IIGS)

- Which Apple II word processor format are the files in presently? (Appleworks?)

- What is the Apple II disk operating system in use? (DOS 3.3, Prodos8, Prodos16, GS/OS)

- What size diskettes being used on the Apple II? (5.25", 3.5")

- What size diskettes being used on the Windows PC? (5.25", 3.5")

If you can give more specific data, you will be more likely to get useful help.

Word?

I have a friend who has an Apple II Computer with lots of Word
Documents. He wrote them to a diskette and tried it in their Windows
PC and Word could not read it.

Any ideas??

Thanks, Patty
