Never connected MIDI stuff to a IIgs. One thing you might check is that
your IIgs MIDI Control Panel is installed (might need MediaControl, too).
Control Panels are CDEVs that go in the /SYSTEM/CDevs/ folder.
Control Panels can be accessed from the usual Finder display by clicking
on the Apple symbol on the left end of the menu bar.
Also, you would probably want the Apple.Midi driver to be in
/SYSTEM/Drivers/ .
