Hi,
A few years ago I found out about ADT, and a few days later I found out
about the IIGS version of the Apple-side part of the system which works with
the built-in serial ports. I now have a Linux box I'm using for Apple
emulation. Is there a version of ADT for Linux, or has anybody written a
substitute ADT program for Linux? If not, what's the easiest way to
transfer disk images between an IIgs and a Linux box?

If you have a normal serial connection (terminal) from your Apple to the linux box you can use Zmodem or similar (Xmodem, Ymodem).

Make sure your terminal program on the Apple is setup to automatically start Zmodem downloads and on the linux side simply initiate the transfer. E.g.

  sz whatever.dsk

sz on my system is part of the lszrz package

PS. If you have marinetti installed and setup PPP on the linux box you can then use a FTP client or even web browser to download the file. You will have to setup a ftp server or http server on your linux box though.
