John my LC550 uses local talk to speak to the //gs. I installed an ethernet
card in the 550 to talk to my PC. Dave speaks PC.

Works great.

I should say worked great. The network isn't currently setup. I origionally
did this on the LC or LC II then the 550. I think I last pulled the  //e
card and installed it on the 550. Lamenting 1 expansion slot.
