Ah yes.  I believe I've heard someone mention that before but forgot
about it.  I suppose it would make the code to search for the first
*.SYSTEM program a little simpler.  They could have set the default
root directory size to a minimum of one to four blocks but I suppose
their way is still less confusing than trying to tell users that it
will only find a *.SYSTEM program to boot if it is in the first so
many directory entries if you want it to start automatically.

Mind you, I usually don't put that many files in the root directory of
a disk anyway, especially if it is a boot disk, so I doubt it would
have affected me.  :-)
