Excellent one on ProDOS 8 written by Gary B. Little, published by
Addison-Wesley. Title is: "Exploring Apple GS/OS and ProDOS 8". 369
pages. ASIN number is: 0201150085

Out of print, but Amazon lists it and may be able to find a copy. It's
an excellent book and covers everything you ever wanted to know about
ProDOS 8 including the things you asked about.
