Well, it didn't occur to me that I could have it one way at bootup and
another way afterward.  I assumed I'd have to have it set one way, then
bootup and use the machine that way.  CAN I switch it after bootup?

Odd that my bootups have returned to their normal slowness, no matter the
AppleTalk/IRQ setting.  Frustrating... it was booting in about 15 seconds
even without shift-booting (and even with a cold startup!).
