     If you want to send plain Text under Hyperterm, you should go down the
menu to "Send Text file".

     It may help to check the Hyperterm setup directions in the FAQs at
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html#020 .

     You might also check your PC COM port settings: Go to ...

Control Panel--> Systems--> Device Manager--> Ports --> COM1 (or COM2)-->
Properties--> Port Settings

Bits per second: something like 115200 or higher for modern PCs
Data bits:       8
Parity:          None
Stop bits:       1
Flow control:    Hardware
