Hi Brad,
I hear you on that. This Apple IIe has now devalued from $9.99 on ebay
all the way down to $5. :) And in 3038, unless they figure out how to
put peoples heads in jars like on Futurama, I don't think I'll be too
worried
about the value of an Apple IIe. Besides a good media blasting will bring
'er right back to beige, and most likely strip off a little bit of the
yellowing
in the process, should prices eventually 'sky-rocket' ...
As for "collectibility?" I don't think very many Apple IIe's are going to
be
collectible. They pumped out millions upon millions of them... As a matter
of fact, I'll reveal my eventual plan... I'm collecting/painting an Apple
IIe for
every color of the Apple graphic on the case lid. Green, Yellow, Orange,
Red, Purple, Blue ... and I'm thinking of doing a silver one, just to match
the lettering! :)
At least it'll make an interesting collection for my vintage comp room!
Cheers!
