: Apple IIgs begins to fail at random time. I tried to boot
ProDOS from
: hard drive at slot 7, from 3.5" & 5.25" drive at slot 5 and
slot 6. It
: halts before asterisk prompt appears to be unknown. If I am
running any
: applications like AppleWorks Word Processor. Asterisk prompt
will appear
: any time while I am working. I have to reboot that I can lose
data.
: Do you have idea that it may be due to heat problem? I
tried three
: different Apple IIgs' motherboard, but the result is the same.
I did run
: diagnostic test that it shows "System Good".
: Can't you imagine that motherboard is getting very old that
the
: reliablity can be very less and less? Please advise if there
are some ways
: to resolve.
Sounds more like a power drop than anything else.
Have you tried a different power supply?
