I don't see any reason to doubt the veracity of her word.

I'm not making any value judgements; it's certainly unfortunate the two
weren't able to find a way to resolve their differences. Perhaps the
loss of the hardware is a small price to pay for marital bliss.

Apple II or loving wife... Apple II or loving wife... Apple II or loving
wife... hmm, that's a difficult question. :-) (said tongue-in-cheek)
