Probably the simplest/cheapest internet solution is to get a shell
account and a copy of ProTerm... with a 56K connection I find it more
than fast enough for surfing/downloading.
The only drawback is that you might have to look afar for an ISP that
still offers shell accounts, but with the low cost of long-distance
these days it's not such a big deal.
