The name IIBF was used in preproduction IIGS ROMs, but I can't say 
whether this was a codename or was intended to be the final name.

Apple User magazine from October 1986 contains an article on the newly 
introduced IIGS. They were obviously given an early IIGS to review so 
that the article would be ready for the IIGS's debut, as while the 
motherboard was in the proper case, it also had the extender ROM board 
and booted up IIBF.
