     Just tried UCSD Pascal v1.1 on our IIgs and it booted fine. Don't
know of any reason why v1.0 should not boot on a IIgs. 

     It may be that v1.0 includes some sort of ROM check, perhaps
related to the boot code at $C600 ... .

     Another possibility is that your IIgs 5.25" drives are off-speed,
need cleaning, or are out of alignment with the v1.0 diskettes.
