Your ISP may insist that you use Outlook or Netscape if you want to
get technical support from them but if their news server is a standard
NNTP (Network News Transport Protocol) server then you can use any
newsgroup client to connect to it and read and post with it. I don't
think Outlook or Netscape support anything other than standard NNTP
servers so you should have no trouble. All you need is the IP address
or the URL of their news server.
Personally I've been using Forte's Free Agent for years for accessing
the newsgroups.
