The control panel of which he speaks is in ROM. Switch on the computer,
wait for it to boot (or kill the boot process with Ctrl-Reset if you're
impatient), and press OpenApple-Ctrl-Esc. That dumps you into the CDA menu,
from which you can bring up the Control Panel.
