AppleWin runs just fine on WinXP (that's what I use)... after you get past
the calibration. I can't remember the exact trick - try running another app
and using Alt+Tab to switch back and forth, or just wait patiently for ~10
minutes. Or kill the process (as you were doing) and try again.
