I have my original Apple][ and for a long time when I used it every day I was able to keep it up with all of the current technology I needed. I eventually moved to a //c and a Laser 128.

I am wonder how close I can get i to compliance with a //e.

I change the ROMs to the floating point ROMs and it became effectively a ][+

I added a Videx 80 col card and a lowercase adapter, 80columns and lower case.

I added a Titan 128k Card.

I added a ZIP chip but there seem to be some issues with that. I cant get it to complete diagnostics.

I have a 65c02 for the enhanced instruction set.

What steps can I take to make this machine more compatible with the //e?

The major missing elements AFAIK are the enhanced instruction set of the 65c02 with the enhanced ROMS and character generator chip.

Is this a feasible project and if so does anyone want to help?

Robert,

If you have a real II, not a II+, I would urge you to keep it in original condition. You have a collectors' item there. You can get a IIe for just a few dollars, and some of your upgrades can be put into the IIe to upgrade it (like you Zip chip - I need to remind myself that Coveting is still a sin.)

It is a real ][, not a ][+. I haven't done any thing to it which can't be undone easily. I did swap the ROMs from the Floating point card on to the main board, in order to add a language card, but I have the integer ROMS and could put them back. I'm mostly interested in this because it was the first computer I ever bought, and I'm sentimental about it.

I wonder if it's worth more than I paid for it new yet?
