: Hello to all 6502 fans,
:
: Daryl on http://www.6502.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 has
developed a
: (hopefully) plug&play replacement module for your 6502 (have a
read of the
: "Replacing a 6502 with a 65816" thread).
: On the size of a 40-pin DIP 6502, his proposed PCB offers room
to a QFP
: 65816 processor and additional logic to remove hardware
differences between
: the 6502 and the 65816.
: Daryl is trying to organize a bulk order to ExpressPCB
(www.expresspcb.com),
: in order to lower the price of the prototype boards.
: I know that there are other options to insert a 16-bit
processor in your
: favorite comp, but this PCB might be of interest to you if you
don't want to
: solder wires inside your micro...
: Ah, Daryl wants to say this is an untested-yet board (this
order will allow
: the first build), so please have a look at his schematics
before applying (I
: do have tested a very close schematics in two different Oric
systems, by
: using a so much bigger prototype I couldn't close the Oric
case)...
:
: Thanks for your attention,

Having seen this PCB first hand, I think he can place
a number of these in a 3.8" x 2.5" area, and order the
prototype special 3 boards for $59, and cut them apart.
I haven't looked into how many will fit, but I suspect
ha can get quite a few out of the procedure. If I can
get a copy of the PCB file I can tell how many he can
get.
