This is appalling.

I was "present" at the moment of cancellation, viewing one of the
auctions.  When I clicked "Refresh", the "This item does not exist"
message came up!

I wondered what had happened, and worried that it might be something
like this.  ;-(

Something must be done to protect legitimate owners of copyrighted
items from their copyright holders, who now seem to have absolute
power.

Doesn't eBay have an ombudsman to mediate these cancellation
requests and verify valid grounds?
