Re: Why were my auctions cancelled?

This thread points out one thing - Apple will defend their intellectual property rights, even when they aren't making one thin dime from selling them. So, considering the thoughts in another thread about creating a new "clone" of the II to keep the hardware alive, one had better not copy the ROMs, and then try to sell the machine. Unless, of course, you copy the Laser or Franklin ROMs, neither of these companies, if they still exist, seem inclined to fight like Apple is.

I am on the point that the Laser ROM may well be the way to go. I've been toying with the idea of implementing Laser compatibility (BIOS by Central Point - now owned by Synantec; computer by VTech - now just makes phones and kiddie toys) in EMU][ for this reason alone. Another idea I had was the EMU][ REE system which eventually would have had a rewritten monitor, and use the BASIC from SimSystem IIe (which I can extract from the SimSystem ROMs to a raw 10K binary org'd at $D000, and have a proggy for), maybe that might be a consideration.
