Re: Running Apple IIgs software off a pc hard Drive

By connecting the parallel (printer) port of your PC and the Game connector of your Igs, the PC can act as sort of a file server. It will allow you to connect a 'disk image file' to your apple II and serve files form the disk image.

Do a search on Apple Oasis.

Thankx,
Ed

I own an Apple IIgs and was wondering if anyone here knows of a way to
connect an apple IIgs to a pc an run IIgs software from the pc ? Reason I
ask is cause i have seen it done for old commodore computers and thought it
was cool. Plus it would be cheaper and easier then locating and buying the
hard drive and 3.5 " drive and all the cards. If anyone has an Idea or knows
how to do this please contact me with the info @ tirk@sasktel.net

Someone was talking about doing that 4-5 years ago. Don't know whether he
actually got the system going. You could try some Google searches of
comp.sys.apple2 .
