: Long file names are indeed the problem. Even one on the disk
confuses
: the FST and the disk can not be read. Note this is NOT a
problem with
: MS DOS Copy under Prodos on the IIe. This is also noted in the
: instructions for MUG, thanks Bill ror sending it.

No problem Dean. I figure I've been through most
of the same things everyone else has over the past
year and a half, so I have some things at the ready.
One thing you should consider, too, is one superdrive,
and one Apple 800K drive. I used to have both superdrives,
and although most of the time all was well, having one of
each alleviates some other problems, which I can't put my
finger on at the moment, but I like to have one of each
dependable at hand. Oh, it's when you want to copy from
an MS-DOS disk to an 800K disk. When the 800K is in a
superdrive, it doesn't write dependably all the time.
This way it does. 8O) Could be another ROM03 bug, but
I have had one of each since a very important 800K disk
died on me. You can try 2 superdrives if you like, it's
totally up to you.

Peter, if you are reading this, I will be sending your
fee, just not sure when. Sure wish you had a PayPal acct.
