I have heard rumors that it is possible to format a HD 3 1/2 disk @
1.6 with a Super Drive card with out an AE drive. Yes I know, there
wouldn't be much use for this since the disk wouldn't be able to used
in anything execpt for that computer.
But still is it possible? I thought only the AE HD+ drives could
do this. Can the Apple drives do this with some special driver and the
SuperDrive card?

The AEHD floppy drive does 800k and 1.6mb floppies plugged into a IIgs
disk port, if you have the AE driver. If you attach it to a superdrive
card it will only do 800k and 1.4mb floppies.

If you attach an Apple superdrive to the disk port you will only be
able to use 800k floppies. If you have the AEHD driver installed and
insert a hd floppy, you won't be able to read it and will be offered
the option of formatting it at 1.6mb but if you try you'll just get a
disk error.
