: If you are sending 7-bit ASCII Text to the Apple II display
: with the high bit = 0, you will probably get inverse or
flashing
: characters. To get a normal "A", you would send a $C1 (193
decimal).
:
: If you are in 80 column mode and print a CONTROL-O-- CHR$(15)--
,
: that could switch ON Inverse.
:
: Another way you might slip into inverse is including an "I" in
a
: command string to the monitor.
:
: Rubywand
Standard characters on the PC are 7-bit or high-bit=0.
To send them to the Apple II you must add 128 or AND $80
beforehand or they will appear inverse. I have at least
a half dozen books on the shelf from Apple II to IIgs
that contains the Apple ASCII set. Probably that many
more in boxes still. If you'd like I can scan in some
very important charts like that and post them on my
web site. Say the word folks. Tell me what info or
chart you'd like to see there. 8o)
