Re: IIgs and OS X filesharing solutions

Cheapest solution I found was an old mac with an ethernet card (LC
class will do), system 7.5, and LocalTalk Bridge. I was using an LC
III with good results, currently I have moved it up to a 7600 running
system 8.1. Localtalk bridge will not run on 8.6 or up, and is rumored
to be unreliable on 8.5. I never ran 8.5, so I couldn't say myself.

The GS talks to the 7600 vis local talk, the G4 talks to the 7600 via
ethernet. The only thing that doesn't work is the GS printing to the
HP5MP (also on ethernet). Fortunately, I have localtalk card in the
imagewriter, so that works for my limited printing needs from the GS.
