For file sharing, find a cast-off earlier Macintosh with an Ethernet card,
and run the LocalTalk Bridge extension on it. I am using a Macintosh
LC-III. The IIgs connects to the LC-III via LocalTalk, the
LC-III is connected via Ethernet to the OS-X box, AppleTalk is enabled on
the OS-X box, and both the IIgs and the OS-X box can mount the shared drive
in the LC-III. One trick...for the LocalTalk Bridge extension to work,
AppleTalk has to be set to "Ethernet" so that the printer port is
available for LocalTalk.

That works for file sharing. So far I have had no luck using that setup
to get MacIP service to the IIgs. I tried using IPNetRouter, running that
on the LC-III, but could never get a working MacIP gateway going.
