Creating II GS floppies on a new school Mac?

Hello,

I would like to put some of the images that you can find on the
internet on "real" floppies for use with my II gs. I have a new school
Mac (i.e. a current iBook and a Quicksilver G4) and of course I could
get my fingers on a PC. Now I thought it would be possible to take the
images and put them on a floppy. I was close to buying an USB floppy
drive for my mac. However, I learned that this is apparently not as
easy. Even the old Diskcopy appears to have problems and you are
supposed to use DiscDup+. After some searching I found that program.
But it is shareware and hard to register (i.e. you have to send money
- I would rather prefer not to do that as I am located in Germany).
And still I can not be sure that this will help. Bernie is also no
rescue in this case as it only supports build-in disk drives on the
Mac.

Before my recent search I put some images on floppies on an old
Macintosh SE. But this was using Diskcopy and some disks just didn't
work. This problem is also described in the FAQ.

So what shoudl I do? On my IIc I use ADT and that is quite cool. Any
comparable solution for IIgs images?

Thanks for any responses,

Eberhard
