I wouldn't lose any sleep over Apple IIs getting fried. For that too happen
they'd have to be turned on. ;)

I wouldn't worry about the 8bit Apple IIs. If every single one were to die
tomorrow a new one could be hacked together by the end of the week. They are
well documented and composed of off the shelf chips (well the ][ and ][+ at
least). In designing the Apple II Woz worked magic.

The IIgs may eventually become a problem. Its complexity is much greater.
Fortunately schools have been dumping them for the past several years so
they can be had for a pittance. Now is the time to stock up.

Of greater concern to me is the commercial software base.
