After all this chatter and discussion of IIe's and their nuances, I
decided to pull mine out of it's resting place and fire it up for a bit
of a nostalgia trip.
I had it all running, booted and happily chattering away at one of my
old games from back then, when I smelled a burning smell...
The ears pricked up and nose in the air I traced it back to where the
apple IIe was running (mind you, still running quite happily despite the
plumes of smoke vomiting from it's power supply.)
I've dissected the power supply to see What Went Wrong�. Looks like a
capacitor has shit itself.
DAMN AND IT ONLY LASTED 19 YEARS!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!
