the most rare //e that i know about was the first //e model..it was maybe
produced the 1st 9months of the //e release date..it essentially was made
the same as a // or //+ case very thick with i think it was white key
caps...you can tell them from the heavy lid and //+ thick walls
the only other thing i can mention is that the apple //e upgrade kit which
allowed you to take a //gs motherboard in a //e case (with backplate and //e
motherboard and //gs label for lid) is prob the most rare //gs product? or
do i call it a //e product?
anyway this //e upgrade kit for making a a //gs out of a //e does NOT fit in
the platinum case..there are also a few cards that don't fit this //e
upgrade to //gs upgrade case also....the cards that do fit usually have the
//e cut corner angle like you see in //e cards..i have 2 of these upgrades
and remember having to occasionally send a card back because of this
only other thing i can think of is i tried to swap the //e power supply from
a //e platinum unit (it basically looks like a small //gs power supply alum)
into a standard //e case...it fit but the power leads were not as long as
the old ones on the non-platinum //e's ...thought this was kinda odd..only
needed about 1" more to make them interchangeable...design overlook i guess
anyway thats what i know more/less about plat //e's
