Since the Apple II was released more than 25 years ago (gulp!!), I guess
we all have different "glory years."
For me, it was the era of the IIGS. After all, within just a few months of
the IIGS coming out, I was hired by The Source to run their Apple II
forum, and from there, I went on to work for The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide,
inCider/A+, SoftDiskGS, Big Red Computer Club, and finally Shareware
Solutions II.
Now, that's not to imply that I didn't love my Apple II+ before getting
the IIGS. But, the II+ didn't change my life; the IIGS certainly did.
And yeah, I'm typing this message on my trusty IIGS ;-)
