I never used disk 7, but I wasn booting either. ;-)

ROM-3 you use printer port and set only slot 1
to AppleTalk, slot 7 remains set to YourCard.
Also should be using printer port on Mac.

I used OS 8.1 on a PowerMac 7100 running AppleShare 2.0.1,
at least I think that was the version. I believe you do need
a higher version of Apple Share for booting though.
