Laser 128ex is that the one that cloned the file://c+ with a control
panel like the file://gs? I remember reading in ad that it ran at 4Mhz,

and

one of the screen shots show a control panle like the file://gs...

From what I have seen, just having and running them,
the 128 is more like a IIe/IIc half-breed with the
IIc half being more prominent, and compatible with
the Rom version #FF. The EX is more like the IIc
Rom#00 allowing a UniDisk 3.5" drive to be attached.
Hmmm, did I try an Apple 3.5" drive? I can't remember
now. I should get them out and try that. It would be
nice if the EX runs at 4 MHz, but I again am not sure.

The EX runs at 4 mhz and has a one meg memory card built in, all you need are four sets of 256X1 chips at about 150n.

The EX2 had a built in 3.5" drive.

I've had the original 128, I own an EX, but I've never seen an EX2 IRL.

I do know that I need to go through all this stuff and
sort it out better. I have stuff everywhere and all
mixed up. I believe the EX has a control panel, but
I can't remember now if I called it up or not. What I
need is keyboards for them. I have 2 x 128s and an EX
and only one keyboard with all the keys good. Two of
the keyboards have a key broken off, although one is
a number key and I can deal with that being it has the
keypad. Anyway, I'll get the things out and the books
and find out what they actually do, if you need to know.
