Re: Apple IIgs booting from Mac server

I tried following the instructions from LAMP posted awhile ago about how to
configure a IIgs to access a Mac across Appletalk, but no dice. I'm stuck.

My config:

Apple IIgs running System 6.01
Mac SE/30 running System 7.5
IIgs modem port connected via Farallon cable to Mac modem port (with
resistor terminators on unused ports)

Apple IIgs config:
  Slot 1: printer
  Slot 2: appletalk
  Slot 7: appletalk

Mac config:
  File sharing enabled.
  Hard disk shared.
File sharing monitor shows no connected users and no activity.

In the Lamp instructions it said I need to select either the printer port or
the modem port from the appletalk control panel on the Mac, but I can't find
such a control panel. Any ideas where to find it?

If not, any obvious problems with the system configuration?'

Thanks,

In the SE/30 try using the printer port
If you have ethernet in the SE/30 then set the network control panel to
localtalk
Use the Chooser to turn Appletalk on
In Sharing Setup control panel turn file sharing on.
With the HD highlighted go to the File -> Sharing and check "share this
item & it's contents"

I think that should be it. Though it's been a while since I had to do this setup.

After everything is setup you'll need to use the IIgs Appleshare control panel to pount the Macs HD on the IIgs desktop.
