Re: Anyone here have a Quadlink?

You know, it's a full length expansion card for an IBM PC or XT which has a

I was recently handed one with orders to wear it and tear it in good health. However, the two software disks that it originally came with are nowhere to be
found, which renders the card as an interesting piece of postmodern technical
art to either hang on the wall or stick into a machine to consume what remains
of the earth's precious resources and return merely heat. Please, don't let
that happen! If you have one of these and want to save this one from terminal
boredom, I'd be ever so grateful if there was a way I could get a copy of the
disks.

There isn't much on the net about this card, but from what I can guess one
disk is MFM and the other is probably the GCR boot disk for DOS 3.3, but I have
no firm information. If both disks are MFM, then teledisk images would work
fine. If not, I'd be happy to kick in for postage.

If you're in the greater Puget Sound area, I could meet you somewhere.

Unfortunately I'm in the same situation. I picked up one a while back.
Box, card, cables, manuals and documentation but alas no disks.
The manual says that the Quadlink came with two disks. A Quadlink one
and an Apple II one called Filer by Central Point Software. Somewhere I
have a copy of the Filer but it's not important as any Apple II disk
should work. The Quadlink is the hard one.

I haven't had a PC in several years so I haven't done any experimenting
but I'm wondering if the software for the Trackstar which was another
Apple II card for the PC might work. I have a Trackstar and the
software and could email or mail you a copy or if you do get up to
Vancouver BC you could pick it up.

I'd be very interested in hearing if you do come across the correct
software. I might even buy a PC just to try the card out in.
