TCL or Tool Command Language is a scripting language which has been in
the *nix world for quit a while. It has also made inroads into the
Windows environment. I don't know about the Mac though but I'm sure a
port for OSX exists.
I think Python world probably work as well or better if a scripting
language is required. However, whichever language you are most
familiar with is the proper one to use.
