There are a few. One easy one to locate is PDEDIT. This editor was written in Aztec C and still has a programming orientation, ie a command based feature set, but is easy to use. At least this is easier to use than the FredWriter, Applewriter variants. However, Applewriter is a very powerful text system.

Also, some development systems have simple editors although the easiest to use I think would be the ZBASIC text editor or the Kyan Pascal system.

These mentioned are pretty much WYSWIG as far as text editors go without resorting to the plethora of word processors.

One I didn't mention as I don't think it's available online is called EDIT. This came on a SoftDisk diskette and isn't exactly freely available although I think the actual SoftDisk was one of their samplers. I can't seem to locate my original diskette image but I did manage to get it copied to one of my emulator images. This particular editor was 128k, mouse capable with a simple menu bar/window interface.

Also, all of these mentioned a ProDOS based but AppleWriter also had a DOS 3.3 version.
