Hello all,
let me start off with a tiny introduction, (heaven forbin someone
should be cordial in usenet!)
I am actually not a previous user of the Apple2 series with one
exception. It was in fact the first computer I ever used in grade
school. I wrote a simple basic program that made an ASCI rocket move
of the screen...wow. Anyway I am actually a video game collector and
that has sort of stemmed into retro computers.
Now for a little brag.
Thursday I found a complete and fully working IIc system with all the
original boxes, packing material, manuals, disks, etc discarde on
someones tree lawn. I took it home and started it up and it works and
looks perfect. I had fun with the print command reliving that fifth
grade class (I am under 30).
Anyway the next day I went by the local resale shope to see if I
could find some 5.25 floppies to use with it. I didn't but I did find
a complete and fully working IIgs system with both (3.5 and 5.25)
floppies, keyboard, and a myrid of ascociated cables only no monitor.
So I picked it for the whopping total of 10.97USD
Finally on to the question.
After some google work I found it may be possible using something
called apple oasis to make disks on PC that are usable on the pair I
have aquired. Only issue is I do not have a 5.25 disk drive. My
thinking was that I could find some software I liked for the IIc (OK,
OK, all I want is games! I admit it!) put them on a 3.5 then use the
LLgs to copy them to a 5.25 (if I ever find any). Only with no TV
adapter or monitor I was wondering if it was safe to hook up the IIgs
to the IIc's monitor. Boy what a lot of typing for such a simple
question, sorry. Anyway that an any other usefull info on these fine
new aquisitions would be appreciated.
