Don't worry--it is very unlikely that any capacitors have failed shorted.
Their most likely failure mode is low-capacitance, high ESR, nearly
open, which will not damage anything, though the drive won't work.
However, since I doubt that the ProFile PSU ran very hot, I would
not be surprised if it worked just fine.
Just plug it in and give it a try. (BTW, if it's a switching supply,
you would have to provide it with a load to test it anyway.)
