I suspect that many here would argue that a ROM 1 is, for almost
all uses, as functional as a ROM 3. So it would be a shame to
trash a ROM 1 just to get a ROM 3 unless there was some overriding
reason for needing the ROM 3 changes.
I have never had a ROM 3 machine, hence my curiosity, but I'd be happy
with a ROM 1 machine and decent hardware.
My old setup was an Apple IIgs ROM 01 with Cirtech SCSI hardcard, 2 3.5"
drives, 2 5.25" drives (IIRC), ImageWriter II, colour display, 4.25Mb
RAM (IIRC), external Apple HD20SC and internal 20Mb HD.
It's just curiosity. If a computer collector in the UK had a similar
system to swap and wanted a rare Russian MSX2, I'd swap, or I'm looking
at buying, I've had a couple of emails I need to get around to replying
to about them! Bottom line is what something costs me to get it, of
course...
