The HP 75 was introduced in 1982. Admittedly, it's a lot less
powerful than a //c but it's also a lot more portable (built-in
screen, runs on batteries).

Similar machines were also made by Sharp and maybe other companies.
The Tandy 100, introduced in 1983, is another sub-//c computer,
with a strong following to this day.
