Becuase they like them. Why would anybody want to work on restoring
and maintaining vintage automobiles? For pretty much the same reason.
I bet you listen to music, and watch TV shows and movies
from your youth.

We don't want to play, we want to play good, and the games we like. 
Some are in it for the hardware, and to keep part of our popular
culture alive.

Some of us get the vintage stuff for free, or cheap at flea markets 
and thrift stores.

The people that have use the abacus in the far and recent past use
them now.
