Real-World data point:
So far, I've snarfed *EVERYTHING* (no culling of any kind - just point 
the FTP client at each directory and let it snatch until it runs out of 
things to snatch) from the Asimov images/games, images/utility, and 
images/masters directories, with an eye towards having a local mirror of 
the entire Asimov site that I can raid in seconds instead of 
minutes/hours. 

Total disk space occupied by this little "project" of mine as of about 
30 seconds ago:
121.9 megs.
