The "signal ground" should be called "power ground".

The "shield ground" is the third wire in the US power receptacle.
It is connected to an earth ground in a properly wired building.

If you don't have an earth ground, then leave that unconnected.
The connection between earth ground and power ground is
made with a network inside the //c.
