Is the question about speech or sound? (As I said, all the
Mockingboards use the same sound generation chip.)
If speech, which chip does the board you have use? How many
pins? And 0.300" width (SC-01) or 0.600" width (SSI-263)?
I believe the reason the later cards used the SSI-263 is that
the SC-01 was no longer being made. The SSI-263 is very much
like the SC-01, but has a few "improvements" that were not
thoroughly debugged.
