Well, there were obviously cards in it, since the rear openings were at
least partially populated in the photo. I never had an "initial owner"
Apple //e - always picked up second-hand rigs - so I don't know if Apple
ever offered to pre-install cards. I don't recall ever hearing about 'em
coming "pre-stuffed", but I expect it's possible that it was bought, the
shop put the cards in for him, and slipped it back into the bag and box
for the trip home.
I'm thinking the bidding is a bit over the top already, though, so I
won't be involved. Besides... I've already got half a dozen floating
around the place, with one actually set up to be used! :)
