I know Apple Pi (www.wap.org) accepts donations of computer equipment and
then gives it away to families that can't afford computers.

Another good candidate is the ARIE Foundation
(http://mchip00.med.nyu.edu/student-org/arie/arie.html).  They fix up
donated computers, games, etc. for use by children in hospital and veterans
in VA long-term care facilities.
