DeskTop would be my favorite desktop program on the //e, especially because of
the Sort Directory and Show Text File (which opens nearly any file for viewing)
Desk Accessories, except for one severe drawback: DeskTop only allows volumes
on the desktop, or it locks in place. Actually, it will allow eleven, but it
doesn't show the first volume, usually the first volume on the hard drive, so
kind of important. MouseDesk, DeskTop's predecessor, allows 13 volumes on the
desktop, but no Desk Accessories.
The extra volumes -- or lack thereof -- seems to be simply a layout preference
of programmer. MouseDesk starts presenting the volume icons in the top right
corner and continues placing them down and to the left in columns until it runs
out of volumes that it can read (13 volumes on 8-bit A2s). Someone must of
thought that it would be a good idea not to cover up the icons with windows, so
DeskTop start laying out the volume icons from the bottom left to right, then
down the right hand side. Result? A limit of five icons on the bottom and
five on the right side.
If anyone can fix this layout restriction, I'd surely appreciate it. It
unnecessarily limits the size of my hard drive on the //e computers if I want
to continue using the ever-handy DeskTop desktop.

BTW, there are THREE empty slots in the DeskTop Accessories menu, so if anyone
has any unreleased desktop accessories, or would write one for viewing
PrintShop graphics/HR/DHR pics, a notepad, a qick Find File, or
updating/putting into plain English the file types in File Info, again, it
would be appreciated.
